Dr. Lilian Musila is a multifaceted infectious diseases researcher with decades of international research and academic experience. She currently heads a research program on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), conducting hospital-based and One Health surveillance and using microbial genomic approaches to define the epidemiology and multidrug resistance risks of priority bacterial pathogens. She provides novel solutions to combat antibiotic resistance using bacteriophages that can target multidrug resistant bacteria and is passionate about raising awareness about antibiotic resistance, fostering quality research training and mentoring environments, and promoting evidence-based guidelines and policies.
