Fredrick Ouma Odhiambo is a pharmacist and a field epidemiologist from Kenya. He graduated from the University of Nairobi in 2011 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree and earned an MSc in Field Epidemiology from Moi University in 2023. He is currently coordinating research and data informatics at the Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI). Before this, he led the establishment of national strategic stockpiles at the KNPHI.
As a technical advisor in the Directorate of Public Health and Sanitation, Ministry of Health, Kenya, Fredrick played a pivotal role in guiding and managing teams. His previous roles include supporting malaria case management and supply chain management at the Ministry of Health’s National Malaria Control Program, and serving as an assistant chief pharmacist and sub-county pharmacist in Kisumu County. He also held the position of deputy pharmacist in charge of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, a regional referral hospital.
With a diverse range of skills and experiences, Fredrick has a keen interest in the prevention and control of infectious diseases, particularly climate-sensitive diseases. His research also delves into the supply chain management of donor-funded commodities, making his work both intriguing and impactful.
He has additional certifications in Fundamentals of Global Health Research (University of Washington), Leadership and Management in Global Health (University of Washington), Senior Management Course (Kenya School of Government), Clinical Management of HIV (University of Washington), Clinical Management of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (Medicines San Frontières), Emergency Preparedness and Response Training (Malteser International), Logistics, Commodity and Supply Chain Management Training (AMREF International University).
